Season 6:
So I haven’t posted in a while. I started another “Places That Begin With” post for Amsterdam back in July, and didn’t get too far. Lost any pictures I download in a hard drive crash too. But I’m loving all those pictures of sunny looking places I previously posted today during our very premature first snow of the season.
Here’s a funny site that I’ve discovered since my last post : http://www.happyplace.com
Please forgive me (yes, I know I’m talking to myself since only me and spambots read this) for not posting. I want to post some more YouTube stuff. I like having a place to gather favorite videos since YouTube deleted my account years ago.
When I attempted to add an Australia gallery to my previous post I found out you can’t have more than one gallery per post, so it looks like each place will need its own post.
I found more good pics of Sydney and Melbourne, but I will save them for when I get to ‘S’ and ‘M’.
I decided to gather pictures of places that would look nice to visit beginning with each letter of the alphabet, starting with A today. I didn’t know what to do with the pictures so I thought I could post them in my blog.
I tried to start with Atlantic City since I live in NJ and could actually get there easily, but I couldn’t find any pictures that made AC look inviting. So I decided to try easier places

About 6 weeks ago I discovered the TV show Psych. I watched all 5 seasons in about 5 weeks. For a concentrating burst of silliness, I decided to find the blooper/gag reels on YouTube and put them in one post.

I meant to write this post last Monday, but didn’t, so I’m writing it now. I am unemployed again, and am loving it! I am in such a different state of mind from when where I was before. I have no worry right now. I started this blog knowing I would be losing my job in order to get a head start on a positive attitude. But that’s just the preface to this post. My post is about my trip to the park last Monday. I don’t like the word “unemployed” because of what the word did to me my last time, so I’m going to use “on vacation”.
Last time I was on vacation, I went to parks often to walk. Monday was a beautiful day (as was yesterday, so I’m thinking its a Monday thing now). It was my first real day off, as the previous Friday I had errands to do, and it was SNOWING (A cruel April Fools Joke). So as I was at the park I was noticing how technology (or at least the technology I own) has changed in the previous 2 years. I have a Droid. While I was at the park, I was able to measure/record/map what I walked. I was able to listen to audio recordings that were on my home computer (not on my phone). I was able to check my email, and Facebook. If I needed to I could even remote desktop to my home computer to check on my home business. I could even read a book on my Droid, or my Kindle. If it gets cloudy, I can check the radar to see if rain is coming. I don’t need to go home for anything. Well maybe for one thing – the bathroom! Not a fan of portapots .
So, I’m seeing dreams come true without even realizing it. I worked from home from 1996-2005, and my old company used to advertise to prospective employees something like “Is it your dream to work from mountain tops or beaches”. It was, but the technology of the time didn’t allow for it, at least not affordably to the average person. Now it really is possible! I have two laptops and there is a Droid app for $10 that lets you connect your laptop to your phone and use the phone’s internet service on the laptop. I haven’t done this yet, because I haven’t needed it, but it makes possible to work from mountain tops or beaches! Now if only I still had that job.
Wow! I can’t express how happy I am right now. Though I can’t make this post without talking about the contrast leading up to this. I was in a bad financial situation a few years ago, living off credit cards. I had great credit and this was before the “bad economy” so I was sent lots of low interest rate offers. I had a huge limit with Citibank and was getting tons of offers from them. They were the last card I had any room left on. Then I accidentally missed the payment due on Christmas 2008. They dropped my limit by $10,000 and raised all my promo rates on the balances I had to 29.99%. Since then I’ve contacted Citibank 3 times asking them to lower my rate. And each time they said no, ask again in 6 months. A couple months ago Discover sent me a 0% for 12 months balance transfer offer. I decided to take advantage of that and transfer $2500 from Citibank to Discover. Today I logged into my Citibank account since my new month usually starts on the 2nd or 3rd. It said my minimum payment was $57. I’m like $57?!?!?! My interest alone is much more than that. Then I checked my interest, and it was $15. $15?!?!?! LOL So I checked the bottom of the statement, and they put the remaining balance back on its original promo rate of 4.99%.
